SCAFFOLD EDUCATION
Scaffold takes its name from educational scaffolding, an idea closely connected to Vygotsky’s Zone of Proximal Development: the space between what a child can do alone and what becomes possible with the right support.
The image comes from construction, where a scaffold supports a structure as it takes shape, then changes or steps away as the structure becomes stronger.
For us, this captures a central belief: children need support, and they need space. The adult’s role is to offer support that changes as the child changes, so what begins with help can gradually become the child’s own ability, judgment, relationships, and sense of self.

There are two programs under Scaffold Education: Scaffold PlaySchool for the preschool program, and Scaffold PlayLab for the summer camp and afterschool program.
